Topical ketoconazole is also used as a treatment for dandruff (seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp) and for seborrhoeic dermatitis on other areas of the body, perhaps acting in these conditions by suppressing levels of the fungus Malassezia furfur on the skin.
Zinc Pyrithione (or Pyrithione Zinc) is a coordination complex of zinc. It has fungistatic (that is, it inhibits the division of fungal cells) and bacteriostatic (inhibits bacterial cell division) properties and is used in the treatment of seborrhoeic dermatitis.
